Looking to connect a mailing list from MailChimp to a sign-up form to your website?
Follow these steps to find your Audience ID code and API Key on MailChimp, to then add to the admin area on your website.
Finding your Audience ID code
- Visit https://mailchimp.com/ and login to your account. If you don't already have an account, you will have to sign-up for one.
- You will then be taken to your MailChimp Dashboard. From here, you'll want to do the following:
- First, click Audience on the left side of the page.
- Next click the Manage Audience dropdown on the right side of the page, followed by Settings
- At the top of the Settings page, click Audience name and defaults here you will find your Audience ID code, which should be a 10 digit code consisting of numbers and letters.
Finding your API Key
- Visit https://mailchimp.com/, click the Profile Image on the bottom left of the page.
- Next, click Account followed by the Extras dropdown and then API keys
- If you haven't already created an API Key, this list will be empty. To create one, click Create A Key
- MailChimp will then generate a new API Key for you.
Adding the Audience ID code and API key to your website
- Login to the admin area of your website.
- From the dashboard, click Settings followed by Mailing listsand then Add a new mailing list
- Fill in the details as per your requirements, but most importantly, enter the Audience ID code in the Mailchimp List IDfield and then the API Key in the Mailchimp API Keyfield.
