Mac Mail (OSX)

These instructions were written for OSX 10.5 but will likely work for most recent versions.

  1. Open Mail on your Mac
  2. Select "Mail" then "Add Account" from the top menu
  3. Select the "Other Mail Account" radio button and press continue
  4. Fill out the following details and press the "Sign In" button:


    Name:
    ###NAME###
    Email: ###USERNAME###
    Password: ###PASSWORD###

  5. You'll be given the message "unable to verify account name or password" and you can then add some additional information. Fill out the following before clicking the "Sign In" button again:

    Username: ###USERNAME###
    Password:  ###PASSWORD###
    Account Type: IMAP
    Incoming Mail Server: hosting.opendoorinternet.co.uk
    Outgoing Mail Server: hosting.opendoorinternet.co.uk

  6. On the following screen ensure there is a tick next to "Mail" but untick the box next to "Notes" if it's selected.
  7. Click the "Done" button
  8. You're all set and ready to send emails from Mail in OSX!
